About the Products

 

IDM has the capability to Design and Manufacture virtually any style or type of Connector Holder for Circuit Checking of Wiring Harnesses, including Load Centers, Fuse Boxes and Junction Blocks.

Manufacturers of Diesel Engines and Power Trains use IDM products for their Mating Connectors, performing load tests and creating individual diagnostics for each unit assembled.  Using IDM manufactured Mating Connectors will essentially eliminate the chance of damaging any of the units connectors while Operational Tests are being performed. 

Pin selection for IDM's Connector Holders are an important part of the IDM philosophy.  As pin selection for many connector holder suppliers come from catalogues, there might be certain unique occasions when a catalogue pin won't fit the requirement.  What sets IDM aside from the others is that IDM will design and use the correct pin for the job required.  When substitutes won't work, IDM won't substitute.

From time to time spring loaded style Pogo Pins may have a tendency to become deformed.  This occurs during repetitive circuit checking which can result in the Connector Holder actually damaging wiring harness terminals.  A bent terminal is a major problem for Wiring Harness Manufacturers.  IDM finds solutions and routinely designs and engineers to resolve problems such as these.  Though IDM Connector Holders use both Pogo Pins and Solid Pins, for a more durable and longer lasting product, many customers will prefer the Solid Pin design.

In the Industry today, Wiring Harness Manufacturers are seeing connectors that may look identical, but in reality they are different.  Attaching an incorrect connector to the wrong branch on a wiring harness is another serious Quality Defect that must be corrected.  IDM is accustomed to resolving these types of issues.  IDM's Design and CNC Programming Engineers work closely together to determine the correct dimensions and tolerances that will not permit this defect to occur.  Such wiring harnesses will not pass the circuit check test with IDM Connector Holders.
